Where can I download Roblox?

In September of 2006, Roblox Corporation released its first PC version of the popular game platform. In the last 14 years, it has gained a huge following. Boasting over 164 million active users. In fact, the menagerie plays Roblox regularly. GodzillaDojo, in particular, probably logs the most time playing through various zombie-themed games, including ones that were written in the article 5 First Person Roblox Game to Try Today

But even now, people still don't really know where you even go to download this wildly popular game, nor even know that it existed. To be honest, even though it's been around for over a decade, I didn't know anything about it until the last few years. That's only because Samurai Owl got a book from the library about video games, and Roblox was featured heavily.

So where do you find the Roblox download?

It's actually fairly simple. On the homepage of the website, www.roblox.com, there is a section just under the sign-up where you can download it on your various platforms. Because, yes, you can play it on a mobile device (iOS, Android, Kindle), a Windows computer, or your Xbox. And one of the awesome features is that if you play on your computer, you can also play with your friends who may be on a mobile device or game console.

Also, if you go to www.roblox.com/download you can also download the items from there, as it will show you JUST the download links without any sign-up.

If you've already signed up, you can go to any game and click "Play" and it will automatically start a download process. This is only on the computer, however, as you need to use a marketplace for a mobile or game console.

Can you play Roblox on a Linux-based operating system?

Sadly, this is where the game platform giant falls. I gifted a Ubuntu laptop to a family member, and they requested Roblox. After battling the curse of Wine (no, not drinking) I concluded that there was not a stable way to get Roblox to work on a Linux system.

Have you gotten it to work on Linux? Please, feel free to comment and let me know! I'd love to hear about your experience!

Come play with us!

We're working on several ways that we can play Roblox together. We're developing a small "Studio" that will let us just hang out, jump off stuff like goofs, and have a great time. We'd love to also just play, so come and follow Lord Thaddius over yonder! When you see him online, join in the game that we're playing!
